Misu is luxury Sudare, a bamboo blind. Misu can be seen at noble places such as temples and shrines. It is often recognized as an invisible curtain between the sacred and the profane. Its exclusive beauty which has been carefully preserved since 1741 gives Buddhist alters or Shinto alters more dignity. 

Buddhist Alter Sudare blind

A Buddhist Alter Sudare blind is a simplified Misu. 
Similarly to Misu, pure Kyoto bamboo is used and Noshijin-ori special fabric- Jyuraku Donsu is decorated on the edge. It enhances an alter room’s style elegantly.

Misu blind for alter rooms

Misu for alter rooms is not just a curtain. It makes a Buddhist alter more dignified and sublime. Pure Kyoto bamboo is used.
Nishijin-ori pure silk is decorated on the edge. This product is the one seen in temples and shrines.

This sunshade is for eaves which are on the outside of the house. 
It is mainly used as a sunshade and since it is well-ventilated, Sudare is now seen as an eco-friendly product which can save electricity.
